Today is 22nd June 2021. The expectation of the cricket world is a crowned winner today. All predictions were thrown out of the window by the mother nature. We are left in anticipation to witness the two day test match of our life time.
The best thing a cricket fan would expect to see 98 overs bowled in a day without any interruption. The least thing a fan would expect is for his team to lift the trophy. The conditions for a cricket match which is always a debate especially when played in England is almost the thing that is not in mind of the fans. All they need is for umpire to say “Play”.
The teams will not have any big plans as they don’t know if it is realistic to achieve in two days. It is all basics they wanted to do right and take it session by session to come out of the maze as a winner. A lot of English teas are required to keep the think tank going. It needs thinking beyond Test cricket, probably as two ODI matches or four T20 matches etc. It cannot only be patience, temperament etc for long because there is not enough time. On a lighter side, probably Virat and Kane can take some inspiration from Netflix series and try apply it on the field. Yes magic and miracle will script a winner.
