Shane Warne - Lessons for our life

The Cricket world was looking back the history of Cricket to cherish the moment of “Caught Marsh bowled Lillie” scorecards on the demise of a legend Rodney Marsh.

On the same day, we were all caught in shock and for the first and last time every fan of the Cricket felt bamboozled facing the news that spun of sadness that Shane Warne is no more.

A legend passed away too soon didn’t quite sink in for me. Many questions in my mind: did the stress cause it? Is it something to do with the lifestyle of the cricketer? The little I know about the personal life of the legend was filling my mind with many questions. Thanks to the era of technology, I did a quick research on Warnie’s on and off the Cricket field activities to be inspired to acknowledge “Lessons for our life”

I don’t have to write about Warnie’s cricket legacy as we all knew about it watching, following, reading, feeling mesmerised with the revs that he brought to the spin that many batting legends couldn’t come up to terms with it. One ball that shocked the umpire Dicky Bird and the legend Gatting defined the wizardry of Warnie.

The legacy apart from the achievements on the field by Warne that scores big is the positivity and mental well-being that he carried to become a legend. Warnie was in the controversial headlines many times and at the same time he was also excelling on the field. Warnie was managing the mental well-being very well. There were several promising players who got caught out by the mental disturbances which curtailed their career.

There are lot of inspirations for all of us not just for Cricketers from the legacy that Warnie left behind. Some of the take aways are:

Positive - Feel that you can do it when given an opportunity. (Warnie took three wickets against SriLanka from the brink of a defeat to be victorious)

Mental Well-being - Don’t let your worries affect you. (Warnie once said that if he can take ten wickets is a big thing due to a personal setback and ended up taking 40 wickets that series)

Helping Tendency - Be helpful to others (Off field Warnie has helped people to make a difference in their lives)

Courage - Be brave to face any situations. (Warnie bounced back after a suspension to take ten wickets)

Shane Warne, a great Legend. Rest in Peace
