It was a nice sunny day in the UK. A girl in her uniform was confidently riding a bike. The push bike was sailing smoothly and the objective was to get in time to the school. No wonder push bike was the best form of transport to enjoy the breeze and to take the sun with you everywhere you go. It reminds me a song “Everywhere you go always take the weather with you…”.
The long hand on the clock passed a bit but one person’s objective was in dire. The girl’s bike had a problem. A woman came to the scene to advice the girl. A man passed thinking they might need some help. The man turned and went back to take a look at the very badly stuck and derailed chain on the bike and got his hands dirty straightaway. The excitement from the girl when the chain was half set on the tracks was equivalent to a middle order T20 batter entering the grounds. The problem was fixed. The woman and the girl appreciated while the man walked away calmly from the scene to see the girl ride away.
This year’s IPL edition is sending out a pattern. The play off is nearing and it is sending a message to me. It is “the team with a strong consistent middle order” will take the team over the line to lift the trophy.
Based on middle order performance we see Thala Dhoni played two great innings but it is too late for CSK, Nicholas Pooran for SRH, Dinesh Karthik for RCB, Liam Livingstone for PK, Hetmeyer for RR. The most consistent among them were Dinesh Karthik and Pooran.
The fulcrum is the middle order basher (the man). Core, the team ( the girl and the bike). The coach (the lady offering advice).
The fulcrum will win the IPL for the team. So, in my view SRH or RCB will win this year’s edition. Obviously, this is a fan’s interpretation but time to deliver the remaining part of the tale.
Eesaala Cup Bhahubali(the middle order batter) …… 😀
